WORLD'S FASTEST BIKE
6Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, 190 miles per hour
11Ducati 1098S, 169 miles per hour
Ducati argued that the current engine was at the end of its
design life (which surrendered as much as 20 hp to the competition in
2007, its last year in WSBK) and that it would be too expensive to keep the 999
competitive. The 2007 WSBK rules limited V-twin engines to 1000 cc, so Ducati
effectively did not have a guarantee that the 1098 was eligible for entry in
the premier class. Before releasing the 1098, Ducati lobbied the FIM to update the WSBK rules to accommodate
its new bike, threatening to withdraw from WSBK competition if the rules
weren't changed. Other manufacturers were not happy about racing a bike with a
larger engine, especially when that bike belonged to Ducati, which has
historically dominated WSBK competition, and Suzuki even threatened to withdraw
if the rules were changed. Ducati prevailed when, in June
2007, the FIM announced that the engine capacity limit would increase to 1200
cc for 2008 However, this increase
in displacement was not afforded without concessions on the part of Ducati.
With the new 1200 cc maximum displacement for two-cylinders granted, the extra
engine modifications allowed two-cylinder machines were surrendered. Engine
modification rules for two-cylinder and four-cylinder machines are now
parallel. Rules for three-cylinder machines remain as before.
Ducati 1098S is one of
fastest and most selling superbikes in the world. The 1099 cc engine with 160
HP power help to attain a maximum speed of 169 miles per hour,
with the highest torque to weight ratio.
Ducati 1098S features many
racing components and weight saving technologies, those which make it a
complete speed machine It is the lightest and fastest motorcycle from
Ducati with much effective suspension.

9Aprilia RSV 1000R Mille, 175 miles per hour
The Aprilia RSV Mille was a sport motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia from 1998 to 2003. It was offered in three versions, RSV Mille, RSV Mille R, and RSV Mille SP.
The first RSV Mille (ME) was made from 1998 to 2000, the updated RSV Mille (RP) from 2001 to 2002 and the last update was made in 2003.
With a 998 cc 60-degree V-twin engine built by the Austrian company Rotax, the RSV Mille was the first large displacement motorcycle made by Aprilia that up to then had made up to 250cc engines. This same engine was used unmodified in the Tuono and in slightly modified form in the SL1000 Falco.
The Mille featured a type of slipper clutch, which worked by using a vacuum on a closed throttle from the inlet manifold to give the effect of slipper clutch, but only on a closed throttle.

The F4 Tamburini, F4 Veltro, and F4 CC models are equipped with variable length intake ducts known as the "TSS" system. The "TSS" system is designed to increase torque in the low to midrange, while still allowing for max. horsepower at the top of the rev range (usually two mutually exclusive properties of an engine). The "TSS" system has two positions, it is not able to vary the height of the intake ducts continuously. "TSS" is able to lower peak torque from the 10000 rpm to 9000 rpm while maintaining maximum power. This system debuted on the F4 Tamburini and was lauded by independent motorcycling publications such as Australian Motorcycle News.

7Yamaha YZF R1, 186 miles per hour
Most impressive motorcycle from Japanese manufacturer Yamaha. The first motorcyle from this popular series came out in 1998. Now,officially unveiled. New YZF R1 features 998 cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve DOHC, in-line-four-cylinder, engine. It produces a maximum power of 197.3 HP @13500 rpm. The top speed of new Yamaha YZF R1 recorded at 186 miles per hour.
Overall handling of the R1 was improved through changes to frame and suspension. A new sub frame was designed for the 2009 R1, cast from magnesium giving lower weight aiding mass centralisation. The rear shock absorber on the 2009 offers variable speed damping, as well as an easy to tweak pre-load via a screw adjustment. The rear shock now connects underneath the swing arm through a different linkage; a change from previous years' models. To improve overall handling and safety, Yamaha included an electronic steering damper.
The front has the same classic R1 shape, though the air intake location and headlamp design have been revamped on the 2009 model; using only projector lamps, and using the new-found design space within the nose cone to reroute ram air tubes next to the lights.
6Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, 190 miles per hour
Honda first introduced the CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird in late 1996 as a 1997 model in the original colors: Black, Titanium and Red. Being a great product, it soon became a popular motorbike for its combination of smooth powerful engine, good handling, comfort, reliability and quality. You will notice that the biggest CBR hasn’t suffered important improvements through the years as it was bulletproof built from the beginning.
The year 1998 doesn’t bring any changes to this motorcycle except the update to the thermostat housing. The colors available were the same (depending on what part of the world you were in). As you already now the 1100XX Super Blackbird could be delivered in any color as long as it was black (only in the U.S in the first years of production).
In 1999 Honda decides to change to their PGM-FI Fuel Injection System. Slight changes were also found at the tail light, air box, RAM Air ducts, oil cooler, and clutch. They kept the Black color for the U.S. but in Europe Blue entered the scene.
After those significant improvements and the adding of a new color, Honda believed that their sport-tourer didn’t need any more changes for 2000 so the motorbike remained virtually the same.
For 2001 the Blackbird was upgraded to a digital dash and Silver was added for Europe. This is the year when the color changed for the U.S.: Red was preferred instead of Black.
2002 doesn’t bring any changes except the adding of Silver for the U.S., only to return at their initial color (Black) in 2003 when the last model of the 1100XX was released in the U.S.
Honda kept producing the Blackbird for the European market but it only changed the colors: 2004 marks the introduction of two-tone Black/Silver color scheme, the 2005 and 2006 models received Silver two-tone and Blue two-tone while the 2007 1100XX features Iron Nail two-tone color scheme.
As you could see the Blackbird kept is original characteristics through the years and it is still going strong in a class with much desired supremacy.
Honda CBR1100XX is the fastest sports tourer motorcyle from Honda till now. This series manufactured between 1996 and 2007. In 1997, Honda CBR1100XX held the title of the fastest production motorcycle by defeating the legendary Kawasaki ZX-11.
CBR1100XX can hit a top speed of 190 miles per hour with a powerful 152 hp ,1137 cc engine. The dual counter balancer shaft provide exceptional smoothness for this superbike.

5 Suzuki Hayabusa, 194 miles per hour
The Suzuki Hayabusa (or GSX1300R) is a sport bike motorcycle made by Suzuki since 1999. It immediately won acclaim as the world's fastest production motorcycle, with a top speed of 303 to 312 km/h (188 to 194 mph).
Undoubtedly, Suzuki Hayabusa is the most popular sports bike in India as even school going students of our country are familiar with the name of this bike which has featured in many Bollywood movies and songs. Suzuki entered the Indian market with this bike in the year 2008. Let’s try to figure out what makes this bike unique.
2017 Suzuki Hayabusa will now be assembled in India and the new ex-showroom price is INR 13.88 lakhs (Rs. 4 lakhs cheaper in comparison to the Ninja ZX-14R).
Design and Style
Suzuki has introduced the second generation of this bike in India. The new variant comes with improved aerodynamics which makes it look better than before. The bike looks extremely bulky from its front. Its front fairing houses its vertically placed headlight and clear lens indicators. The wide and long visor further enhances its look with integrated black colored rear view mirrors. Suzuki has also printed graphics on its front fairing which adds aggressiveness to this bike. Just below its headlight, Suzuki has placed a broad front fender which completely covers its front forks. Move to the side of this bike and you will notice the extreme extension of its side cowl. Suzuki Hayabusa is under covers till its rear tyre which differentiates it from others. There are two big air-inlets on its side fairing which looks very cool with the Japanese decals featuring the name of this bike. Suzuki has neatly designed its fuel tank which gives it a premium touch. Its single seat complements its rear designing. The bike features a partly black colored fatty silencer with diamond like coating. The rear cowl houses round shaped LED tail light and up-raised indicators which looks fancy with its broad rear tyre.
ayabusa is named after the Japanese name of Peregrine Falcon, the fastest bird in the world which flies at a speed of 203 mph. At a top speed of 194 miles per hour, the Suzuki Hayabusa could even reach close to Peregrine falcon.

3MTT Turbine Superbike Y2K, 227 miles per hour
Meet the MTT Y2K. It will outrun a Bugatti Veyron Supersport, rev three times more than a Formula 1 car and make the mighty Suzuki Hayabusa feel like a Hero Honda Splendor.
Made by South Louisiana-based Marine Turbine Technologies (MTT), the Y2K has nothing less than a Rolls-Royce Allison 250-series gas turbine engine, usually found in, erm, helicopters.
Unleashed on the world way back in 2000, the original Y2K hyperbike, the yellow one in the inset, had a 320-horsepower engine that, the brochure claims, made peak power at no less than 54,000rpm (compressor speed) and churned out more torque than a Lamborghini Gallardo. All in a motorcycle that weighed 30kg less than a Hayabusa! It even had 200-section rear tyres mounted on carbon-fibre wheels.
Performance, as you might have already guessed, was off the charts. In the time it takes a Veyron to do 180kph, the Y2K would do 320kph (5.4sec, and we’re wondering how the rider hung on!) and top speed was an eye-watering 402kph.
Then, since that absurd top speed and 320bhp simply wasn’t enough for everybody, MTT introduced a 420bhp version called the Y2K Streetfighter. This one had a larger swingarm, wider 240-section rear tyres, bigger fuel tank and an enhanced cooling system.
Cut to the present and MTT is working on the red bike you see. Due for its launch in the United Kingdom in mid-2013, it’s the latest version of the Y2K that uses a Rolls-Royce 250 C-20B gas turbine engine rated to 420bhp and a claimed, if yet unproven, top speed of 440kph. It is currently undergoing wind-tunnel testing in the UK to determine what changes should be made to allow the bike to run at such speeds without, you know, taking off.
The new bike, when it’s out, will resemble the exclusive rendering pictured here.
The best bit is that MTT is currently thinking of selling it in India. It has, in fact, imported one example of the Y2K here via its distributor, Viva Motorsports, to gauge Indian interest. It will be on display at The India Bike Week in Goa on the 2nd and 3rd of February 2013, so us mere mortals can eyeball it and hopefully hear its fighter-jet-like exhaust note as well.
As for the money, the Y2K retails for Rs 1 crore in the US of A, so expect it to cost roughly twice that if and when it comes to India.
A word of advice: If you do see one on the road here, keep your distance. The jet wash just might melt your bumper off!
